A popular chef on YouTube and Facebook whipped up a beloved Mississippi recipe for his followers, and the video garnered millions of views just hours after it was posted on Tuesday.

Emmymade, a Rhode Island-based content creator known for cooking viral recipes and trying military ration meals from around the world — including MRE meals from the United States — made a roast from Mississippi and posted the video on his Facebook page.

The slow cooker recipe only has five ingredients: roast, peppers and pepperoncini juice, a packet of au jus, a packet of ranch dressing seasoning, and a stick of butter.

Emmy cooked the roast for about 8 hours before trying it.

“It’s quite interesting to watch,” she said. “I think it’s going to be fine.”

The viral cooking star, who also frequently travels to Japan and tries cooking there for her followers, said the roast was tender and delicious.

“It’s really good,” she said, adding that it would be best served over potatoes or rice.

The Braised Mississippi video racked up more than 16 million views on Facebook as of Wednesday morning.

Emmymade’s YouTube page has over 2.7 million subscribers.
